Pepes Taco

Pepe’s Tacos is a popular taquería in the Cinco Diciembre neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta—and for good reason. This local favorite is known for their juicy, flavorful pastor tacos that hit the spot whether you're grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a full taco feast. On my visit, I went with the tried-and-true pastor tacos, which were perfectly seasoned and tender, served fresh off the trompo. I also ordered their cazuela with melted cheese and chorizo—rich, indulgent, and packed with savory flavor. The selection of salsas was impressive, each one adding a different depth of flavor and just the right kick. Service was quick, efficient, and friendly—exactly what you want from a bustling taquería. If you only have time to visit one taco spot in Puerto Vallarta, Pepe’s Tacos is a top choice. You won’t regret it.

Pepe’s was on most YouTube videos for a go-to taco place in PV and since I’m staying closeby it was an easy decision to check it out. Glad I did cuz the Pastor tacos were really good. Salsas were all good, too. Service was excellent. Only thing I’d do different next time is to avoid being too close to the Pastor grill as bits of charcoal was flying all over as the wind blew and made it slightly bothersome. That said, I’ll definitely try to go back cuz the tacos were great and it was pretty inexpensive. Hours are interesting (1 pm - 6am) and I wondered who’d be going like at 4 am. But then I woke up at 4:20 am and thought… should I ho back to Pepe’s?

Authentic, delicious, memorable. Have ate here twice already during my trip and I know I’ll be back again before leaving. The building is classic, all fans no air conditioning but still feels nice as theirs openings in the walls the keep air flowing. The Al pastor tacos are literally addictive! So good and cooked on a coal heated meat spindle with pineapple on both sides. Amazing. The chicken tacos are good too, still moist. Their array of sauces adds to the experience and I loved everyone’s funny/silly shirts that worked there. Open 1pm to 6AM! Highly recommend.

Local vibe. The best tacos ever! The owner and servers were very friendly. They even allowed my kid to cut some meat out of the grill. Very authentic food and place!

Best Tacos Ever!!!! We should have went here twice a day, it was that good! We had queso to start, and several different types of tacos… it was all delicious. The Al pastor fresh of the spit was to die for, the asada and chorizo, Hawaiian, and Asada were amongst our favs. They bring out a platter of four homemade salsa from mild to light your tongue on fire to complement your tacos. The atmosphere is very open and bustling with happy friendly servers, who won’t let your drink or stomachs go empty! Fresh squeezed margaritas and ice cold beer topped off the experience for us. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and grab a a taco or ten.

This is absolutely the best taco place in Mexico. The El Pastore tacos were exploding with flavour! Try the chorizo as well as it did not disappoint. Expect lineups to begin at 12:45 for their 1 PM opening and again around 6:30 to 7 PM for dinner. It’s well worth the wait though!

These are hands down the best tacos we ever had! In Arizona, you can find some pretty good tacos, but the Tacos al Pastor here are just amazing! Great experience, we will definitely be back! I highly recommend it, bring cash, as they don’t take cards. The best tacos we ever had so far!

Tacos al pastor is one of my favorite things on the planet and these guys do a fantastic job! Stopped here after our Atv ride and it did not disappoint.Packed with flavor and the tortillas are nice and fresh! We will definitely be back!
